Directions to Howard Creek Ranch

Howard Creek Ranch is located 3 miles north of Westport. Driving from the south, look for the Adopt-a-Highway sign that says “Howard Creek Ranch Inn”. Turn right into the next driveway after the state sign (milepost 80.50), bear left – gate is marked. Driving from the north, 2 1/2 miles after reaching ocean, cross Howard Creek Bridge. Take first driveway on the left, bear left. The turnoff to the Inn is across from the Westport Union State Beach Station.

Driving up Highway 101 from South of Howard Creek Ranch, Highway 128 from Cloverdale has a windy section on the East side, a straight section in the middle with Wineries/Tasting Rooms and orchards in the middle and redwoods on the East end. You do arrive on Highway One much further down on Highway One, however.

If you plan on traveling Highway One the entire way, please add a few hours to your trip time as it takes much longer. Its definitely worth doing, but its not fast.

Route 20 leaves 101 from Willits and is almost all trees and curves with a few straight sections. It goes through Fort Bragg on Highway One which is good if you need to do some grocery shopping.

Branscomb Road is the shortest, and is now paved, but it is one lane in some places. It connects with Highway One one mile south of us. The northern route from Leggett is fine if you are coming from the north, but please do not take it from the south as it adds an hour onto your trip.

For those of you coming from the East, please see a map. Thank you.
